1. Talk to Boshu (que_ng 28,50) in the Ninja Guild in Amatsu (147,136). He'll ask you to bring him a Guard [1].
2. After bringing him the Guard [1], Boshu will examine it (but will not take it from you), then offer to create a slotted version of the Arm Guard if you give him 1 Guard [1], 1 Arm Guard [0], and 10,000 Zeny. (Arm Guard [0]s can be bought from Boonray in the Ninja Guild's supply room.)
3. Give him the required items and pay the fee, and the player will receive a slotted Arm Guard.

1. Talk to Batshu (que_ng 28,45) in the Ninja Guild in Amatsu (147,136). He'll ask you to bring him a Mirror Shield [0].
2. After bringing him the Mirror Shield [0], Batshu will examine it (but will not take it from you), then offer to create a new version of the Arm Guard if you give him 1 Mirror Shield [0], 1 Arm Guard [0], and 20,000 Zeny. (Arm Guard [0]s can be bought from Boonray in the Ninja Guild's supply room.)
3. Give him the required items and pay the fee, and the player will receive an Advanced Arm Guard.

1. Talk to Toshu (que_ng 28,18) in the Ninja Guild in Amatsu (147,136). He'll ask you for 1 Buckler [1], 1 Advanced Arm Guard [0], and 40,000 Zeny.
- Note: The NPC calls the Advanced Arm Guard an "Upgraded Arm Guard".
2. When you bring the items to him, he will warn you that there is a chance that the slotting process will fail.
- If he succeeds, you'll receive an Advanced Arm Guard [1].
- If he fails, you'll receive 1 Bomber Steak as compensation for the lost items.
