\\  The blessing of Virgin Mary. Doubles the target's [[wiki:def]] and [[wiki:mdef]]. The persons who receive this will benefit from damage reduction for a limited amount of time. The reduction is 1/2 on normal PvM maps and 1/3 on PvP maps. It is disabled in [[wiki:woe]] and [[wiki:gvg]] maps.

Casting [[wiki:kyrie_eleison]] on someone that has Assumptio will cancel Assumptio, likewise casting Assumptio on someone with Kyrie will cancel Kyrie.

   * Does not reduce fixed damage from [[wiki:pressure]], [[wiki:gravitational_field]] and [[wiki:tarot_card_of_fate]] cards (Chariot, Tower and The Devil). 
  * Most effective for players with high DEF and MDEF. 
  * Is completely ignored by skills that bypass DEF and MDEF, but are very effective against skills that are reduced by both, such as [[wiki:acid_demonstration]]. 
  * Assumptio and [[wiki:kaite]] will overwrite each other.
