1. Go to Geffen and talk to the New Mage Manager (Located at 67, 180) just outside of the Mage Guild. Accept her offer for training, and she'll explain about the different elemental properties. When she's finished, she will reward you with:

• 168,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 8,400 (Eir) Base Experience
• 84,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 4,200 (Eir) Job Experience

2. Talk to her again and she will discuss about each element. After your discussions with her, she will reward you experience for every element that she covered so make sure to read about all the elements. She will reward you with:

• 75,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 3,750 (Eir) Base Experience
• 35,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 1,750 (Eir) Job Experience

or

• 15,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 750 (Eir) Base Experience for each element.
• 7,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 350 (Eir) Job Experience for each element.

3. Talk to her again to learn about the different Mage skills and how they work. When finished, you will gain Base Experience and some Job Experience.

• 40,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 2,000 (Eir) Base Experience
• 20,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 1,000 (Eir) Job Experience

4. She then asks the player to go north and kill Pupas. Bring back:

10 Chrysalis. 

5. Once you have all the items she required you to hunt, bring it back to her and she will reward you with:

• 40,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 2,000 (Eir) Base Experience
• 20,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 1,000 (Eir) Job Experience

6. Talk to her again. This time, she will talk about the advanced skills of Mages. Make sure to read about all the skills to get more experience. Once finished, she'll reward you with:

• 210,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 10,500 (Eir) Base Experience
• 70,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 3,500 (Eir) Job Experience

or

• 30,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 1,500 (Eir) Base Experience for each skill.
• 10,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 500 (Eir) Job Experience for each skill.

7. Talk to her again. This time, she will inform you about the strange things happening in Morocc. She then asks you to find Yierhan in Morocc Ruins. Agree to help the Thief Guild and she will warp you to Morocc.

8. Once in Morocc, travel to the (Morocc Ruins and find the Thief Trainer (Located at 66, 164). He explains more about his partnership with the Mage Guild, and his friendship with Mana, then asks you to head south of Morocc to start investigating.

9.Head to Sograt Desert south of Morocc, and right below the portal to town is the first 'Trace of Battle' (Located at 166,369). Talk to it to learn about the trail which leads south.

• Note: 'To avoid having to backtrack, make sure you click on each of the Traces until they repeat which direction the battle went.

10. Further south on the same map, find the second 'Trace of Battle' and talk to it (Located at Sograt Desert 12 173,215). It says the trail continues to the east.

11. Next to the east portal of the same map, find the third 'Trace of Battle' and talk to it (Located at Sograt Desert 12 276, 165), where you will see some peculiar footprints.

12. Enter the portal and you will be at Sograt Desert 11. There will be a 'Trace of Battle' next to the portal (Located at Sograt Desert 11 39, 163). You will discover that someone joined the battle and a new trace has been added.

13. Go towards the south portal and find the fifth 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 11 205, 52). You need to neutralize the remaining poison with Green Potion. After neutralizing it, investigate, and recover a piece of cloth drenched in blood.

14. Head towards north and find the sixth 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 11 184, 342). It will tell you that the footprints are heading south.

• Note: In the game, it will say that the footprints are heading north. Ignore this and head south anyway.

15. Head to the south portal and enter the next map. You will be at Sograt Desert 17. Find the seventh 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 17 213, 358) just south of the portal. It will tell you that only two people were involved in the battle from this point.

16. Further south on the map (Located at Sograt Desert 17 228, 274), talk to the next 'Trace of Battle', which says the battle continues westward. Keep investigating until you find another piece of cloth.

17. Near the west portal, investigate the 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 17 34, 292), which says the combatants grew increasingly desperate at this point, and the trail heads west.

• Note: In the game, it will say that the footprints are heading east. Ignore this and head west anyway.

18. Enter the west portal. You will be at Sograt Desert 18. Walk west until you see 'Trace of Battle' near a tree (Located at Sograt Desert 17 346, 296). Investigate it and you will notice that someone began bleeding and the trail is much easier to follow.

19. Walk south-west until you see the next 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 18 309, 257). The pursuer got closer to their prey here, and the trail heads north.

20. Head north and find the next 'Trace of Battle' near the north portal (Located at Sograt Desert 18 177, 333). The trail will lead you south-west.

21. Head south-west and investigate the next 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 18 111, 303). More people have joined the battle at this point and the trail leads to south.

22. Head further south and investigate the next 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 18 109, 197). Look around for a little while. You need items to clean up the poison and recover a piece of poison stained cloth:

Red Gemstone
Green Herb 

• Note: You will set off some traps and take damage so make sure to bring healing items. Keep trying until you manage to investigate a peculiar-looking trap.

23. Head south and investigate the last 'Trace of Battle' (Located at Sograt Desert 18 156, 96). You will discover that one set of footprints leads off the cliff, while the remaining head back out. Whoever was being pursued was apparently finished off.

24. Head back to Yierhan at Morocc Ruins, and report your findings. He will thank you for your efforts and rewards you with:

• 5,000 Zeny
• 500,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 25,000 (Eir) Base Experience
• 200,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 10,000 (Eir) Job Experience

25. Return to Geffen, and talk to Mana again. She will thank you for your efforts on helping out the Thief Guild and rewards you with:

Silk Robe.

• 100,000 (Loki/Tyr) or 5,000 (Eir) Job Experience
